The Springfield Armory 1911s equipped with a factory cut front sight dovetail require a front sight with the correctly dimensioned and engineered dovetail to fit properly. The best front sight on the market is made by Dawson Precision and I am pleased to offer it to compliment my rear sight product line. The DP night sights are machined from hardened steel and equipped with a green Trijicon tritium lamp, surrounded by a white ring to enhance daylight visibility. They are offered in heights of .140", .160", .170".180".190"and .205"; all with a width of .125".

Important Note: Please read the "Do I need a new front sight" topic located in all of the sight category sections for details on how to select the correct height for your pistol. The .180" front sight is the typical factory front sight height for all adjustable sight versions and also works well on the new Gen II version of the HD-002.

Springfield EMP 3" pistols need the .140" tall front sight.

NOTICE - When you receive your new tritium sight, take it into a dark place and confirm that it glows in the dark. If it does not glow, I will exchange it, prior to installation.

After the sight has been installed, if it does not glow, the lamp has been damaged by installation. You will have to send the sight to Trijicon for replacement.

SA EMP 3 Sights

Bought front and rear sights for my EMP 3 and had my gunsmith install them. The sights are a significant improvement from the factory sights. Not only do the solve the problem of shooting in low light conditions, the sights are a marked improvement in well lighted conditions. Matched with the tritium and u-shaped blade of the rear sights, target acquisition is much quicker and target reacquisition on follow-up shots is significantly improved. John was a pleasure to deal with throughout the purchase process. It took me several days of reading various EMP blogs to find a company that manufactured front sights for the EMP 3 & 4. These sights are far superior to the factory sights and I couldn't be happier with them. EMP 4 front sights should be available soon and I will purchase them and rears immediately.
