The Colt sear spring with it's reduced width leg sections is the best spring on the market. They are much easier to set the tension on each leg than those springs with full width legs. They hold the tension adjustment very well, unlike others.

There are a lot of sear springs sold today that are barely a spring at all. If you bend them too far or too many times, they will go "dead". If your sear spring doesn't look like this one, you may want to change it when you upgrade your ignition parts. Fits all 1911s, including the Springfield EMP.

Better than stock

This spring was a definite improvement over the stock spring in my R1. Compared to other 1911's I had handled and fired, the grip safety on mine was not up to snuff (the stock spring was way too soft). This spring dropped right in with a drastic improvement to the tension applied by the spring to the grip safety. Disconnector seems to have a little better tension as well. Sear resets and functions cleanly everytime.

200 rounds since I replaced it and I am really happy I changed to this one. More good advice from John H

Wow, Better then Wolff

I took out my new Wolff sear spring and put this one in. What I difference, much smoother.
