I got the new tapered firing pin stop for my wife's 1911, it was so purdy coming out of the package I almost hated to fit it, which only took a couple of licks as it was .004 over-size for my gun, all other dimensions were spot on and perfectly polished (like mirror polished), took a blue like no other, and functions great! It does as advertised! I would totally recommend this!

Just put one of these in my R1.  John left just the right amount of extra material so I could get that perfect fit.  Only took a minor bit of time on an oil stone and it slid right in.  Exact fit to my Wilson Extractor as well with no extra fitting.

The only really extra work was that I had to notch out the corner for my 80 series (Yup I know this part is for a 70 series just didn't want to wait...)  Really easy to cut out the corner with my Dremel.

Just took it to the range and I have to say I like the change in the recoil.  I did notice a reduction in the felt recoil, especially with some light loads I had with me.  The light 45 loads actually felt similar to a Hi Power I shot recently so this part definitely works well with lighter loads.

Never realized how such a minor change in a part can totally alter how the gun runs.  Great part!

Much less fitting than the previous oversized firing pin stops that I have installed.
They dropped right in to two different guns. I had to file a bit for ejector clearance on my Springfield Champion Operator (a 4" 1911 with an ejector that's more to the center of the cartridge, I suspect your HD-206 FPS for commander sized guns would have dropped right in, but I didn't want to wait) But other than that, thickness, overall width, extractor engagement were great.
Same story with my Kimber Super Match. Great width, length and extractor engagement. The Super Match has adjustable sights, so I had to work on the top of the FPS for the bomar-style sights, but other than that it was a drop in fit! Awesome. I was able to get both stops in my guns in less time that the other oversized stops take to get into just one gun.

Ordered this on a Sunday night. Arrived the following Wednesday. Fit and finish is outstanding. Pressed right into my Kimber slide. No hand fitting required. Nice and tight. No more clocking of the Extractor. It also appears to have pulled the stock extractor back a hair which produces slightly firmer tension on a test cartridge rim. I have not test fired it yet, but I can already tell from function testing that I will be pleased. Excited to see if there is a noticeable difference in recoil. Highly recommend.

One of my earliest experiences with my RO was the original FPS falling out because the firing pin stuck out the breach face and simply wasn't there to hold it. Well I was so glad to see you were offering a FPS for the RO spec, I couldn't wait. Got it in and installed it and I am really impressed. The fit was great I couldn't be happier with it. Thank you so very much for continuing to offer these great parts, your workmanship is outstanding.

Excellent service, awesome machine work, and almost no fitting required.  I recommend one to everyone that shoots a 1911.  The closer you get to JMB's original design, the more reliable your gun will be.  Install this part, learn to tune your extractor, and buy some good mags, you'll love your gun in no time.

Generally, I hate fitting firing pin stops, but this was quite simple and easy to get a good snug fit.  Will only be using these from where on out.
