Product reviews for Extreme Service Thumb Safety

Ever since I put John's slide stop in my R1 I was hoping he would come up with a thumb safety to match it.  And this part definitely fits the bill.

Very different from pretty much everything else out there. Not only with the looks but also with that little extra metal he leaves that allows you to set the down travel.  Nice to know its hard against the frame when my thumb is on top holding it down.

Shape and placement of the lever really fits my hand well. Function is great with both strong and weak hand.

Plenty of metal if you want to tinker with the shape but all I did was soften some edges to suit my preferences.

All in all, typical John Harrison, well thought out, well made and well worth putting on your gun!

I ride the safety on my 1911grip, and the ride on my STI Trojan was just to high. Wanted a lower ride and when I saw this safety I felt the geometry looked good. I couldn't be happier.  The grip is now very natural. Part was easy to instal with minor fitting, and the finish is excellent. The slide release is a very good match and they look great on my 1911. Thanks John!

Ok, so I love the thumb safety! I wanna put them on the guns I shoot that need the grip safety functional. I want 2 more standard ones and a couple of the tactical ones. Please advise how too proceed. Feel free to use me as a reference.

If you are struggling in any way with your grip or thumb placement on a 2011 pistol have a reputable gunsmith install one of these thumb safeties, you will not look back!

Love it ! Fitting it took no more than 20 min. Perfect shelf for my thumb. Couldn't be more satisfied !
