Purchased this safety for my DW V-Bob the original safety felt like it had two stages the plunger tube was slightly out of spec. (oversized detent hole) and the detent would ride off of the safetys side plate. The thicker side plate on Johns safety lever allowed the detent to function properly,  now the safety is on or off period. As in the description fitting is needed, the pin needed .003-.004 taken off.  the extra material on the lug had to come off and of course fit it to properly block the sear.  The width of the lever is perfect for me and if I had to pick a "con" I would like to have a more durable finish than black oxide something similar to the DW duty treatment.  

True to fact, there is no such thing as a "drop-in" 1911 part, but this thumb safety is beyond reproach!  Purchased for a Kimber Pro Carry II HD .38 Super.   Sanding and filing of the main pin was required but simple along with very mild filing on the lug that engaged the sear.  Simply match with the factory part on your respective firearm. I love the modified angle on the thumb safety for easy disengagement.  It is a huge improvement from the standard thumb safety. I will only purchase aftermarket parts from Harrison from here on out.  The design and quality is so far above and beyond the MIM garbage out there it boggles the mind why mainstream 1911 manufacturers get away with their inferior products.  I have tested and trust Harrison's products on my carry weapon.  You have a customer for life!

Ok, so I love the thumb safety! I wanna put them on the guns I shoot that need the grip safety functional. I want 2 more standard ones and a couple of the tactical ones. Please advise how too proceed. Feel free to use me as a reference.

Following the fitting instructions provided on the website really made the installation a breeze.  Filing slowly and testing fit often, the whole process took about an hour.  The shape of of the safety really does follow the hand's natural curves much better than most thumb safeties provided from other outfits.  The finish also matches the OEM finish on my S.A. LB Loaded.  Overall, impressed with the thumb safety, thankful for the well thought out fitting instructions, and ecstatic with the final result.

I am sure this safety will be great. I have not seen it yet. Harrison Design was very fast with shipping. USPS decided to turn a 785 mile trip into a 2800 mile adventure.  I guess they were trying to reduce my cost per mile. Not at all John's fault.
