Lots of us are searching for a sight that will let us again see the sight picture in focus like we were able to when we were younger, myself included. I have been asked repeatedly if I could make a front sight for a customer having the large, bold day-glo green or orange ring around the tritium lamp, like the Trijicon HD sight does.
Well I did it one better - I am now offering the Trijicon HD front sight as a stand-alone product! They are available with the Novak dovetail, which has to be the most popular front sight dovetail out there.
These sights are .145" wide and have a wide ring of photo-luminescent paint surrounding a green tritium lamp. The rings will luminess when exposed to light. The .145" width is necessary to accomodate the wide ring of paint.
I recommend a rear sight notch .020"-.030" wider than what you'd normally use with a .125" wide front sight. Harrison Design rear sights are available with custom sized notches.
I also make the very popular HD-004, HD-004.5, HD-005 & HD-006 in a wide-notch (WU) version as a stock item. They have a .170" wide x .145" deep "U" notch and comes in either plain black or 3-dot pattern night sights.
